BiblioTrek aims to be a self-explanatory and intuitive App.

The pages flow in a logical manner, designed to simulate a journey through books and across the world.

The ‘Begin’ page is a “BiblioChart” of pre-selected significant world locations (including Fictional and Historic places), accessed through the BiblioChart pins or through the ‘Cities/Key Location’ icon where they are listed in alphabetical order and by ‘Country’, ‘Region/Continent’ and ‘Category’.

Books are accessed through the ‘Cities/Key Location’ pages or through the ‘Book’ icon where they are listed in alphabetical order and by ‘City/Key Location’, ‘Country’, ‘Region/Continent’, ‘Author’, and ‘Genre’.

Authors are accessed through the ‘Book’ pages or through the ‘Author’ icon where they are listed in alphabetical order..

BiblioTrek has five signature features.

The first features cascading Route Pins, accessible through the ‘Book’ pages. These pins drop in sequence, following a Book’s journey or its Author’s life in specially prepared ‘BiblioTrek Biographies’.

The second is a ‘Nearby Route Pin’ feature accessed from each ‘Route Pin’. This takes the user onto the map, where the initial pin is identified by a ‘BiblioFlag’, surrounded by Route Pins from other Books and Authors’ lives. By touching on a nearby pin, the user can join the new Book or Author and continue their journey from there or touch the top left icon to return to the originating point.

The third is the Wikipedia link which corresponds with the Book, Author or Place.

Fourthly, hyperlinks appear where appropriate, taking the user out of the App in Safari. To return to the departure point, the user simply presses twice on the Home button on their device then touched the BiblioTrek icon.
Finally, BiblioTrek allows the user to find books in geographical locations and locations in books. This feature also allows BiblioTrekkers to search for books by genre and distinguishes Locations by Category, meaning a user can look for books which visit major modern cruise destinations, or that visit historic archaeological sites, historic trade or pilgrimage routes or even top beaches or classical hotels.

The best way to enjoy BiblioTrek, we suggest, is to get out there and get BiblioTrekking!
